Mobile Phones & Dress Code (As agreed by the Board 02/05/2023)
Mobile Phones
On the Course: The use of a mobile phone on the golf course is really a matter of etiquette. You should have your phone on silent or vibrate. If you do need to have your phone on, you should only do so in agreement with your fellow golfers.
In the Clubhouse: The use of phones in the clubhouse is also a matter of courtesy. Under no circumstances should phone calls be made or received in the clubhouse. Your phone should be on silent or vibrate.
Dress - On the Course
Members and Guests should be dressed appropriately for playing golf. Specifically:
- Footwear designed for golf
- Trousers/skirts/golf dresses that are appropriately tailored
- Polo shirts (It is recognised that ladies' shirts may be sleeveless)
- Shorts that are tailored
- Predominantly white socks when worn with shorts
- Hoodies are permitted providing they are golf branded and of smart appearance. Track suit tops with hoods are not acceptable.
Not Permitted:
- Any form of trouser or short that is either denim or has external patch pockets such as cargo pants
- Rugby shirts and heavily logoed shirts that are not designed for golf
- Golfing headwear worn back to front
- Track suits in any form
Dress - In the Clubhouse
Unless otherwise stipulated for an event, the dress code in the clubhouse is casual. Specifically:
- Casual wear, golfing clothing, jeans and t-shirts are permissible but should be clean and in good condition
- Torn and ragged clothing, soiled work clothing, and soiled or wet and dirty golfing clothing are not acceptable
- Footwear, which may include training shoes if desired, must be worn at all times. Socks are not necessary, including when wearing sandals, unless in the dining room.
Dress - On Practice Areas
- Practice Nets: The same rules as for the golf course
- Putting Green: The same rules apply as for the golf course unless specific permission is granted
- Practice Field: There are no restrictions other than shirts must be worn
